Source: King's Blue Book of Hawaiian Melodies - Hawaiʻi is represented by the color red and the lehua flower. Moku o Keawe was a high chief of the island of Hawaiʻi, often called the Big island. Panaewa is a forest in the Hilo district. Mauiʻs color is pink and its flower is the roselani or lokelani. Haleakalā (House of the sun) is the volcano on Maui. Yellow is the color for Oʻahu and ʻilima is its flower. Kauaʻi's symbol is the color purple and the mokihana flower/berry. Makana, a land district in Kauaʻi was renowned for the fragrant lauaʻe fern. Green is the color for Molokaʻi and the kukui is its flower. Lanikāula's spirit (the famous prophet of Molokaʻi) was preserved in the kukuʻi trees of his grove. Moaʻula is a waterfall in Hālawa Valley on the east end. Lānaʻi's color is orange and flower is kaunaʻoa. Representing Niʻihau is the color white and the pūpū shell.
